COVID Vaccine Coordinator (LTE)

Job Responsibilities:
Must have familiarity of Wood County and surrounding areas.

Purpose of Position

The COVID Vaccine Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating continued COVID-19 vaccination efforts in Wood County. This includes vaccine outreach and coordination of clinics both on and off-site. This individual will be responsible for ensuring safe and proper storage, handling, and administration of COVID-19 vaccine. 

As time allows, this individual will assist the COVID Response Team in conducting COVID disease investigation and contact tracing. 

All LTEs are required to attend meetings as assigned by their supervisor and stay informed of COVID-19 recommendations set forth by Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

Participate in state and local meetings and updates.
Coordinate COVID-19 vaccination clinics on and off-site under direction of supervisor.
Enter information into the Wisconsin Immunization Registry and other vaccination databases.
Manage staffing for vaccination clinics under direction of supervisor.
Order and maintain vaccination supplies and vaccine. Immediately process vaccine shipments and complete inventory per state guidelines.
Ensure proper storage procedures and vaccine usage including, but not limited to: removing and reporting expired vaccine, maintaining documentation of vaccine, responding to temperature excursions, and organizing and labeling vaccine.
Create vaccine promotional materials and assist in dissemination of materials.
Outreach to at-risk populations.
Transport, administer, and document vaccinations. 
Monitor patients post-vaccination; follow emergency procedures as indicated.
Maintain adequate supply of up-to-date patient education materials and consent forms in a variety of languages.
Engage in quality assurance activities.
Complete reports in the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System as needed.
Respond to community and patient calls related to vaccination and general COVID-19 questions.
Follow Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Centers for Disease Control guidelines for all vaccine-related activities.
Perform related work as applicable.
 
Other Duties
Complete required training; participate in meetings and webinars as assigned.
Report to work as called 24/7 in a public health crisis or emergency and performs public health emergency response duties as assigned and consistent with training provided.
Participate in public health emergency response training and drills.
Conduct disease interviews with positive COVID-19 cases; Refer and/or call contacts of newly diagnosed patients.
Maintain contact with supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Registered Nurse license from the State of Wisconsin is required
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience and familiarity with local public health departments and with Wisconsin health care preferred.
Ability to work on-site and remotely, with existing high-speed internet connection, in an interruption free environment.
Available to work minimum of 30 hours per week, includes some weekends.
Ability to exhibit a professional, positive attitude, and work ethic.
Excellent interpersonal skills required and ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress is essential.
Ability to show empathy to distressed individuals.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to speak, read, and write English - second or multiple languages a plus.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism, and abide by all HIPAA requirements.
Ability to accurately and efficiently complete data entry.
Proficiency with computers necessary.
Familiarity with Wood County geography (cities/towns/locations) required.
