FT/PT:Casual - up to 1,200 hrs/year

Dental Hygienist for Wood County Healthy Smiles Program

Wood County Health Department is seeking to contract with a Dental Hygienist to provide support services according to County’s directive in a manner that complies with industry standards and provisions for Healthy Smiles for Wood County. The Healthy Smiles Dental Hygienist will perform:
Oral screenings
Sealant placements
Fluoride varnish applications
Retention checks
Oral health education
Program planning
Case management/referrals
Other duties as assigned that align with the Healthy Smiles for Wood County Program 
Participate in the Health Department emergency response should a public health emergency occur.

Maximum 1664 hrs/yr


 
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree in dental hygiene required.  Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene or in a field related to public health is preferred.  State of Wisconsin dental hygiene license required.  Three years professional experience as a dental hygienist that includes dental sealant application preferred.  CPR certification or ability to become CPR certified is essential.  Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access is helpful.  Basic, everyday living skills are needed, as is the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.  Attention to detail, as well as being dependable, flexible and maintaining confidentiality critical.  The ability to work independently within program regulations and Agency guidelines is essential.  Must be a licensed driver and have access to an insured vehicle.
