Seasonal Maintenance Worker (LTE I) - Parks Department
Location:Parks Department
FT/PT:Casual - up to 1,200 hrs/year

Hiring Range:$11 to $12 / hour
Job Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of tasks in maintaining and cleaning of County Park and Forestry areas and facilities.

1. Clean, disinfect, and deodorize restrooms, shops, shelters and other park facilities on a daily basis.
2. Collect and dispose of park refuse, daily, or as assigned.
3. Winter Operations:  shovel snow, de-ice walkways, hook up tubers to towlines.
4. Responsible to know and practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a safe and prescribed manner as trained in County Park and Forestry areas and facilities.

1. Repair park signs and tables, as needed.  (Painting, sanding, new bolts, etc.)
2. Transport materials, supplies, or workers to and from assigned County Park and Forestry areas and facilities. Will not operate equipment requiring a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) license.
3. Does related work as required and assigned.
4. Any other duties as may be assigned.


Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, or in the process of obtaining a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be 17 years old. Possession of a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License is required. Basic, everyday living skills are needed, as is the ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions.  Reading, writing, adding, and subtracting is necessary to use a calculator and to understand manuals and safety precautions necessary in performing maintenance and repair work. Basic knowledge in the use and care of tools and equipment for general maintenance and light construction work.

Basic equipment used:  hand tools (hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.), shovels, brooms and light duty truck. Certification in basic first aid desired, but will provide training as necessary.
Note:  The Seasonal Maintenance Workers are seasonal positions, with a maximum total of 1,039 hours.
